As a division of the Sheriff’s Office, the Cleveland County Detention Center is devoted to safeguarding our community, inmates, and staff.

Our detention staff consists of motivated professionals with the highest levels of integrity who work to uphold the values of the Cleveland County Sheriff’s Office:

Many young men and women enter law enforcement through employment at the detention center. Those who choose detention as a career compassionately serve the men and women who unwillingly enter our doors. We are charged with courageously protecting all Cleveland County residents, and that includes those who reside within the jail. For some, the detention center can be a first step toward literacy, recovery diversion courts and resources that will give them the tools to turn their lives around if they are willing to make the commitment to change. Whether they choose to take that journey or not, we will treat each person who enters with human dignity while they wait for the wheels of justice to determine their next destination.
