Viola Lynn Collins, born June 1, 1979 in Houston, Texas, and better known simply as Lynn Collins, is an American actress who plays the role of Dawn Green on the HBO original series True Blood. Making her debut in the series' premiere episode, "Strange Love", in the series' first season, Lynn plays the role of a waitress working at Merlotte's Bar and Grill. She had a sexual history with Jason Stackhouse, and was the second victim of the Bon Tempskiller, following Maudette Pickens. Playing a recurring role through the same season, Lynn met an untimely demise in the Season 1 episode "Mine", and was seen once more, in a flashback on the episode "You'll Be the Death of Me", at the end of the series' first season.
Biography[]
Lynn graduated from Klein High School in 1994. She dated British actor Charlie Cox and Keanu Reeves before she married 10,000 BC actor Steven Strait in 2008.
Lynn has had some experience on both stage and screen in Shakespearean roles. In 2004, she played the role of Portia in the critically well-received film The Merchant of Venice (2004), based on Shakespeare’s play. She starred opposite Al Pacino (as Shylock), Joseph Fiennes as Bassanio, and Jeremy Irons as Antonio. Despite brandishing a cut glass English accent in the film (”I guess I was just always a good mimic, and there were plenty of Brits on the set to help me”), Collins was born in Texas, but moved to Singapore at the age of four.
Upon her return to the United States there was only one career path for her, and after studying at the prestigious Julliard drama school in New York, sh
