Introduction

Bao Quoc Pagoda is one of the oldest and sacred pagodas in Hue Imperial Capital. As you know, each pagoda covers the up and down history, delicate architecture as well as ancient stories.

It is known as the must-visit attraction in the spiritual tourist destination of Hue with beautiful landscape and quiet spaces.

Bao Quoc Pagoda Location

Located on Ham Long hill, Bao Quoc Street, Duc Ward, Hue City. Bao Quoc pagoda was built in the shape of Khau (Mouth) following the Nom language character by the Venerable Master Giac Phong in the 17th century.

During the reign of Le Du Tong King, Bao Quoc Pagoda Hue was named Ham Long Pagoda. In 1747, Lord Nguyen Phuc Khoat gave the pagoda a signboard “Sac Tu Bao Quoc Tu” which means Bao Quoc National pagoda.

The Pagoda History

In 1808, the Gia Long emperor restored and built three relics including the Great Bell with a weight of 826 kg; 1.4 m high, diameter is 1.2 m and named the pagoda as Ham Long Thien Tho. Later on, because Gia Long’s mausoleum was named Thien Tho Tomb; so the Minh Mang emperor changed it back to Ham Long Pagoda. In 1824, Emperor Minh Mang restored the pagoda on a larger scale. In 1858, Emperor Tu Duc contributed to the restoration of the pagoda.

With a rich history from ancient times, to these days Bao Quoc Pagoda still retains everyone known as a peaceful and sacred place. In addition, the is not only a place of worship but also an important Buddism training center in Vietnam. In 1930, during the Buddhist revival movement; the pagoda made important contributions to Buddhism development.

    I am Gia Quoc Bao TRAN (Trần Gia Quốc Bảo in Vietnamese), born in 1997 in Saigon – HCM City, Vietnam. Since January 2025, I have been a Visiting Scholar at Hori Group, Keio University, Japan. 

    From November 2021 to October 2024, I pursued a Ph.D. in Mathematics and Automatic Control at the Centre Automatique et Systèmes (CAS) of Mines Paris, a constituent institution of Université Paris Sciences et Lettres (PSL), France. In April-May 2023, I was a Visiting Scholar at the Hybrid Systems Laboratory of theUniversity of California Santa Cruz (UCSC), USA. My research focuses on Observer Design for Hybrid Systems, and I work mainly with three esteemed advisors/collaborators: Prof. Pauline Bernard and Prof. Florent Di Meglio at CAS and Prof. Ricardo Sanfelice at UCSC.

    I earned my Engineering Diploma (Diplôme d’Ingénieur) in Automatic Control from Grenoble INP, Université Grenoble Alpes,with the Highest Honors (Mention Très Bien),in2021. Prior to that, I completed 4 years of Mechatronics studies through the Vietnamese-French Training Program of Excellent Engineers (PFIEV) at the Vietnam National University HCM City, University of Technology. I was a research intern at GIPSA-Lab, France, and The University of Tokyo, Japan, in 2021 and 2020.

    I have received several honors and awards, including being a Heidelberg Laureate Forum Young Researcher, the Honda Y-E-S Award (awarded to 10 selected students in Vietnam), and three prizes in the National Student Olympics of Mechanics.

    Bao Quoc (1949-    ) is a famous Vietnamese comedic actor of stage, film and Southern Vietnamese folk opera known as cai luong.

    Born as Lu Quoc Baoon September 11, 1949 in Tay Ninh, South Vietnam, he is the sixth eldest in a family of ten children.  His father was Nam Nghia, a prominent cai luong actor.  His older half-sister was the late legendary cai luong and film actress Thanh Ngawho had been murdered in 1978.  Coming from a family with a firm background in the cai luong stage, Bao Quoc began his career as a performer at an early age.  He was cast in supporting roles in major cai luong stage productions starring his sister, Thanh Nga, and actor Thanh Sangsuch as Chuong Hau in Tieng Trong Me Linh and Tat Dao in Ben Cau Det Lua.  His other notable roles on the cai luong stage also include Bui Kiem in Kieu Nguyet Nga, Hai Xien in Ban Tho To Mot Co Dao and Y Xi Ke in Bong Toi va Anh Sang.  In 1967, Bao Quoc along with My Chau, Ngoc Bichand Phuong Binhwere honored each with a Thanh Tam Award, South Vietnam's equivalent to a Tony Award, for most promising newcomer.  In 1974, Bao Quoc had a small part in his very first feature film, Năm Vua Hề Về Làng, which featured and all-star cast including Thanh Nga, Tham Thuy Hang, Thanh Duoc, Thanh Mai, La Thoai Tan, singer Hong Van, Phuong Hong Ngoc and Bang Chau.

    After the Fall of Saigon, Bao Quoc concentrated mostly on his career in comedy.  For eleven consecutive years from 1991 to 2001, he was voted favorite comedian of the year in a poll conducted by San Khau Magazine.  Bao Quoc has won a total of 4 Mai Vang Awardsas a comedic actor.  He has also acted in several blockbuster comedy movies, each featuring an all-star cast, such as Khi Dan Ong Co

    Trần Bảo Quốc (sinh ngày 9 tháng 3 năm 1956) là nam diễn viên người Trung Quốc. Ông là "Thị đế tam đại" (tức người đạt Thị đế ở cả 3 giải thưởng truyền hình danh giá Phi thiên, Bạch Ngọc Lan, Kim Ưng) thứ 5 của Trung Quốc sau Vương Chí Văn, Trương Quốc Lập, Tôn Hồng Lôi và Trương Gia Dịch. Anh được khán giả Việt Nam biết đến với vai diễn Bạch Cảnh Kỳ trong bộ phim truyền hình Danh gia vọng tộc (Đại trạch môn). Bảo Quốc tốt nghiệp Học viện Hý kịch Trung ương vào năm 1974 và kể từ đó đã tham gia nhiều phim điện ảnh và phim truyền hình, bao gồm cả The Emperor in Han Dynasty and Rob-B-Hood.

    Anh đã tốt nghiệp Học viện Hý kịch Trung ương từ năm 1974 và làm việc cho đến nay. Hơn một thập kỷ đóng trong hàng chục bộ phim, vở kịch và vai trò quan trọng trong các bộ phim truyền hình, anh đã giành được nhiều giải thưởng. Nam diễn viên làm chủ tịch danh dự Ủy ban công tác truyền hình Trung Quốc Hiệp hội Nghệ sĩ và phó chủ tịch Trung Quốc Đài phát thanh và truyền hình diễn viên Ủy ban Hiệp hội Truyền hình.

    'Năm 1977, anh tốt nghiệp Học viện Trung ương Drama. Năm 1979, đóng vai chính trong đầu tiên của bộ phim "Newsboy ". Năm 1981 với sự tham gia "Da Duhe."

    Năm 1982, bộ phim truyền hình đầu tiên với sự tham gia của Wang Fulin, CCTV phát sóng bộ phim "Colours of the Rainbow" anh đóng vai trò của Liu Sijia, nhờ vai diễn này Bảo Quốc là người đầu tiên của Trung Quốc nhận giải thưởng Golden Eagle cho hạng mục giải thưởng Nam diễn viên xuất sắc nhất, và trở thành thế hệ đầu tiên của Trung Quốc là thần tượng của thanh thiếu niên thời đó

    Năm 2002, anh đóng vai chính trong phim truyền hình "Public security bureau chief" và cũng trong năm đó anh đã giành giải thưởng Golden Eagle lần thứ 21 cho hạng mục diễn viên được yêu thích nhất năm
