    Barry is an American dark comedycrime drama television series created by Alec Berg and Bill Hader that premiered on HBO on March 25, 2018, and concluded on May 28, 2023, after four seasons and 32 episodes. Hader stars as Barry Berkman, a former U.S. Marine from Cleveland who works as a hitman; upon traveling to Los Angeles to kill a target, he finds himself joining an acting class taught by Gene Cousineau (Henry Winkler), where he meets aspiring actress Sally Reed (Sarah Goldberg) and begins to question his path in life as he deals with his criminal associates such as Monroe Fuches (Stephen Root) and NoHo Hank (Anthony Carrigan).

    Barry received critical acclaim, with most praise going to its directing, writing, originality, humor, characters, and performances (particularly those of Hader and Winkler) as well as its examination of its subject matter. The series has received various accolades, including 44 Primetime Emmy Award nominations. Hader won Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series twice, while Winkler won Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series for his performance in the first season. For the second season, Winkler, Root, and Carrigan all received Emmy nominations for Outstanding Supporting Actor, while Goldberg received a nomination for Outstanding Supporting Actress. Hader, Winkler, and Carrigan each received two more nominations for the third and fourth seasons. All four seasons of Barry were nominated for the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Comedy Series.

    Botched is an American reality television series that premiered on cable channel E! on June 24, 2014. It follows doctors Terry Dubrow and Paul Nassif as they "remedy extreme plastic surgeries gone wrong."

    Production

    Botched's first season, consisting of eight episodes, ended on August 17, 2014. A two-part reunion special hosted by Maria Menounos aired on October 26 and 27, and featured interviews with Dubrow, Nassif, and patients from the series.

    On August 5, 2014, Botched was renewed for a second season, which premiered on April 14, 2015. On June 7, it moved from its Tuesday, 9 pm timeslot to Sunday, 9 pm. The mid-season finale aired on July 12. The series was renewed for a third season on July 1.

    Three specials, titled Botched: Post Op, aired after the October 13, 20 and 27 episodes. The specials were co-hosted by Nassif, Dubrow, and Dubrow's wife, actress Heather Dubrow.

    Season 3 premiered on May 10, 2016, starring both Dubrow and Nassif. It ended on August 2, 2016. In October 2015, the eight-episode spin-off series of Botched was announced entitled Botched by Nature. It premiered on August 9, 2016.

    On November 12, 2020, the series was renewed for a seventh season which premiered in 2021.

    On July 20, 2022, the series was renewed for an eighth season, which premiered in 2023.

    American filmmaker

    Maggie Carey (born c. 1974/1975) is an American film director, screenwriter, producer and actress. She has directed comedy shorts for television, and she wrote and directed the 2013 film The To Do List.

    Early life and education

    Carey was raised in Boise, Idaho. She attended Jackson Elementary and West Junior High and graduated from Borah High School in 1993.

    Of her high school experience, Carey said, "I was in every AP class possible. I played a ton of sports. I was in student council. I was an all-American soccer player." Carey was also a lifeguard at the Borah pool, an experience that would influence her film The To-Do List.

    Carey attended the University of Idaho for a year, before being recruited to the University of Montana to play Division I soccer in the team's inaugural season. She was co-captain of the team, making 26 appearances as a defender and scoring one goal. She graduated from Montana with a bachelor's degree in English literature. Carey went on to earn an MFA degree in film production from the University of Texas at Austin.

    Career

    In 2007, Carey and Liz Cackowski created an online series called The Jeannie Tate Show.

    Carey was a member of New York's Upright Citizens Brigade improvisation troupe. Carey performed with both the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre in New York and Improv Olympics West in Los Angeles.

    In 2011, Carey cowrote and directed sketches for four episodes of Funny or Die Presents called "Lady Refs" about female referees working youth soccer games.
